Introduction

This bibliography is for Bankstown library for Preschool Storytime. The main target of audience is for parents of toddlers and babies from 0 to 8 year old. It is also to promote some of the resources that this library has but overall to introduce children to literature through The Wheels on the bus!

Toddlers at this age are fascinated with wheels, buses and transport of all sorts, they also like nursery rhymes that they sing and enjoy. Boys particularly likes buses and the tune of “the wheels on the bus”, they like the repetition as a way to reaffirm their knowledge and rhymes are a very good way to help them to get engage with their surrounding world.

Through this selection they will see books are fun to read as we can see on them all the things we like. I also think that they will discover that this rhyme could be applied to many different things than just buses, so this is a good way to promote reading.

This selection contains 18 book adaptations of "The wheels on the bus rhyme"  and two recent award winner books which main subject are buses.
